Your choices for modern gaming

One of the things that technology has greatly improved are games. When people play games today, they almost always play some sort of video games. While older games like Monopoly and Poker still have a place in our culture, it's undeniable that video games have taken over as the primary means of gaming. The latest evidence of this is the Pokemon Go craze and the quickness with which it has become adopted.

If you are interested in playing a game, there are several major options you can consider. I will talk about these options below, one at a time.

1. Playing games on your cellphone.
Maybe it's just me, but cellphone games are not my favorite. Sure, they can be fun if you have time to kill and you are waiting somewhere, but in most cases, a computer or consoles game will be much more engaging. That said, most cellphone games are free, and it doesn't hurt to download a few.

2. Computer games.
I find the PC to be the best choice for massively multiplayer games. In fact, many popular MMORPGs are available only for PCs. You will need to invest in a high-quality graphics card to get the best experience, but for some games, you may be able to get away with a cheaper video card.

3. Console games.
For all other types of games, game consoles are most likely your best choice. I like Xbox myself, but Playstation is also highly popular. For players of console games, I highly recommend joining a service called Gamefly, which will allow you to borrow games online. The games will then be sent directly to your home. All you pay is a monthly membership, and you can exchange games as often as you like. To join for free, check out this Gamefly free trial from

So there you have it. If you want to play games, what I covered above are basically your three options. And if none of them appeal to you, you can always go old school and pull out that board game or pack of cards.
